Birds were not chirping when my day began
For I longed to talk to the person that makes me whole
How can I smile when oceans separate us
All I felt was sadness.
Perhaps it was the hugs from my students
Or seeing a blue sky while the warmth from the sun touched my skin
My sadness was replaced with laughter and smiles
My heart began to heal.
Sadness was replaced with excitement as I left to meet a friend
Restaurant Week arrived at the time I needed most
An amazing view with delicious food along with great conversation
Made my blue fade into the horizon.
